Heidi Klum celebrates son Johan’s high school graduation with rare family moment

Supermodel Heidi Klum gave fans a glimpse into her personal life as she celebrated her son Johan’s high school graduation. Sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram, Klum beamed with pride alongside her children—marking not only a major milestone for Johan, but also showcasing the close-knit family she shares with ex-husband Seal.

A proud mom’s moment in the spotlight

Heidi Klum is no stranger to cameras, but this time, the spotlight was all on her son. The 52-year-old supermodel took to Instagram to share a rare set of family photos and videos from Johan’s graduation ceremony. Dressed casually but chic, Klum watched her 18-year-old son cross the stage to receive his diploma, capturing the special moment in a short video.

In a sweet follow-up clip, Klum can be seen giving Johan a kiss on the cheek while wearing oversized sunglasses. The family love continued in a snapshot featuring Johan proudly holding up his diploma, flanked by his smiling older brother Henry, 19. The caption read: “Cheering you on today and every day ❤️ CONGRATULATIONS JOHAN 🎓🥳🙏❤️ my heart is full of joy and pride ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

The graduation was a family affair, with Johan’s father, British singer Seal, also present to celebrate. Klum and Seal, who were married from 2005 to 2014, share four children together: Leni, 20, Henry, 19, Johan, 18, and Lou, 15.

The next generation steps into the spotlight

While Johan is enjoying his time in the spotlight for academic achievement, Klum’s children are also finding their own places in the world of fashion and design. Her oldest daughter, Leni, has already launched her modeling career with high-profile campaigns and runway appearances, following in her mother’s footsteps.

Henry, who recently made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week, also turned to his famous mom for career advice. Speaking with Access Hollywood in March, Klum recalled how surprised she was when Henry expressed interest in modeling. “He was like, ‘You know mom, I really want to get into modeling, what do you think about it?’” Klum said. “I’m like, ‘Wow! Who knew that you wanted to do this? I thought you were always more into music…’”

Klum gave him the green light: “You’re like, so handsome—of course you should do this.” She added that Henry practiced his runway walk at home, hinting at how seriously he’s taken to the family business.

Artistic ambitions and a future in design

As for Johan, it seems his post-graduation plans are already taking shape. Unlike his siblings who are gravitating toward modeling, Johan has expressed a deep interest in the arts and fashion design. In an October interview with PEOPLE, Klum revealed that the two had been touring colleges, including the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City.

“Johan is very much into the arts and making clothes,” Klum said. “So today we toured Parsons.” With her background in fashion and years of experience in the industry, Klum is likely a wellspring of guidance for her creatively inclined son. Whether Johan ends up on the runway or behind the scenes designing for it, he appears poised to make a mark of his own.

Even youngest daughter Lou, now 15, is beginning to show an interest in the modeling world. “She also is kind of, at the gate with the hoof,” Klum joked. “She’s like, ‘Ok, when can I do this modeling stuff?’ I’m like, ‘You just turned 15. Let’s wait a hot minute.’”

Balancing fame and family

Despite her busy career and enduring public presence, Heidi Klum has managed to keep her children largely out of the media spotlight—sharing only the occasional photo or anecdote. But milestones like Johan’s graduation remind fans that behind the catwalks and television sets is a dedicated mom deeply involved in her kids’ lives.

Whether cheering from the audience or offering sage advice from the sidelines, Klum’s approach to parenting blends warmth with encouragement. Her Instagram caption says it best: “Cheering you on today and every day.” It’s clear that for Klum, family milestones are just as important as any career achievement—and perhaps even more rewarding.

With her children now stepping into young adulthood—some eyeing fashion, others exploring design—the Klum family legacy is evolving. And while Heidi’s career is far from over, she’s embracing this next chapter not just as a supermodel, but as a supermom.
