Fara Homidi’s new bronzer delivers the ultimate sun-kissed glow

Makeup artist and cult-beauty founder Fara Homidi has launched her first bronzer—an innovative powder-to-cream formula designed for that effortlessly sunlit summer skin. With skincare benefits, a glow-enhancing finish, and a custom brush to match, this is no ordinary bronzer drop.

A new kind of bronzer, three years in the making

When Fara Homidi launched her eponymous beauty brand in 2023, it quickly became a darling among beauty insiders and minimalists alike. With sleek, futuristic packaging and thoughtful formulations, the brand was immediately recognized for its elevated approach to makeup. Now, just in time for the summer season, Homidi is expanding her line with a highly anticipated new release: the Essential Bronzer Compact.

But this isn’t just another bronzer launch. According to Homidi, the formula was more than three years and ten iterations in the making. The goal? To create a bronzer that mimics the dimensionality of a real tan—minus the sun damage. “I really studied the way a real tan looked on the skin,” she explains in an email to L’OFFICIEL, “and I wanted to achieve a finish that was alive and mimicked an actual sun-toasted glow.”

The result is Lumi-Matte Soft Suede, a self-setting, powder-to-cream bronzer that applies with the silkiness of a powder but finishes like skin. “So many bronzers on the market look too orange, ruddy or dry,” Homidi says. “I knew the texture needed to hold, yet still feel luminous and believable. The answer was a powder that performed like a cream—and that’s exactly what this is. It’s truly a first-of-its-kind formula.”

A sensorial, skin-loving formula

The Essential Bronzer Compact launches in four shades, retailing for $78 USD, and is accompanied by a custom Shader Brush ($68), designed specifically to enhance application with maximum precision and blendability. Beyond just color payoff, the formula doubles as a skincare infusion, blurring the line between makeup and treatment.

“Every formula I develop is packed with skin-loving ingredients,” Homidi explains. “Not only do they feel and look delicious on the skin, but many of these ingredients also support the way the product performs visually.” The Lumi-Matte Soft Suede is infused with humectants, snow mushroom extract, and hyaluronic acid, all of which help boost hydration and plumpness, leaving the skin looking radiant rather than masked.

The bronzer is also refillable—a decision in line with Homidi’s thoughtful approach to beauty. It reflects a deeper sustainability effort and a desire to design products that are meant to last, both in aesthetic and in utility.

A new technique for a lifted glow

What makes the Lumi-Matte Soft Suede formula even more compelling is how Homidi recommends applying it. Rather than defaulting to the traditional bronzer method—simply warming the cheeks, forehead, and nose—Homidi introduces what she calls her “shading technique.” It’s a deliberate hybrid of contouring and bronzing, designed to sculpt and lift the face while maintaining a natural glow.

“Guide the brush in upward strokes,” she says, “focusing the product a little higher on the cheekbones than where you’d place a traditional bronzer or contour. Then, pull upwards on the temples.” From there, she recommends dusting under the jawline, across the bridge of the nose, and on the chin. “The result,” she says, “is a lifted, snatched summer glow that doesn’t look like you tried too hard.”

And this isn’t a technique reserved for professionals. The accompanying Shader Brush, with its vegan bristles and ergonomic shape, was designed to make this kind of precision easy—even for beauty novices. It effortlessly diffuses pigment without patchiness, allowing the formula to melt seamlessly into the skin.

Where to find it—and what’s next

The Essential Bronzer Compact and Shader Brush officially drop on Fara Homidi’s website this Wednesday, with broader distribution beginning June 23. Retailers will include Sephora online, Violet Grey, Moda Operandi, and Dover Street Parfums Market, among others. With this rollout, Homidi cements her place in the luxury beauty space, while also remaining one of the most innovative indie voices in the field.

Much like her earlier lip and complexion launches, the bronzer is expected to gain cult status quickly. It caters to an audience that is increasingly skincare-savvy and makeup-minimalist—those who want performance without the drama, texture without heaviness, and glow without glitter.

As for what’s next from the Fara Homidi universe? If the bronzer is any indication, it’s safe to say that more high-performance, skin-conscious innovations are on the horizon. But for now, this radiant summer launch is the kind of beauty moment worth savoring—golden, glowing, and beautifully designed.
