Lhands DeLos Reyes – A resilient fashion dream in the heart of Saudi Arabia

There are people who don’t need to move too fast to leave a mark. They walk slowly, but each step carries a clear purpose. Lhands DeLos Reyes, a young man from the Philippines living in Saudi Arabia, is one of them. A model, a graduate in public administration, a son who offers his deepest gratitude to his mother, and now, a Global Ambassador for Global Student Fashion Week 2025. For him, recognition does not come from bright lights, but from the life values he maintains in a quiet yet extraordinary journey.

GSFW 2025: Where student dreams are elevated with fashion and intellect

Global Student Fashion Week (GSFW) 2025 is the world’s first international fashion week dedicated exclusively to students and fashion training institutions. The event will take place in December 2025 in Hanoi, gathering outstanding individuals from many countries. To strongly promote its mission and humanitarian ideals, GSFW has selected 999 Global Ambassadors, including beauty queens, kings, and influential figures from the international community.

The event is expected to welcome 150 young designers from 30 leading fashion schools, along with the participation of over 450 beauty queens and kings, 900 dancers, and more than 6,000 guests. This is an opportunity for fashion students to showcase their talents, access a professional environment, and contribute their unique voice to the narrative of creativity, sustainability, and global connection. Through GSFW, diverse cultures will come together on the international stage in a space where fashion becomes a catalyst for understanding, dialogue, and unity among nations.

A life not enveloped within one personality

Lhands was born in the Philippines into a family that values education and kindness. He grew up with simple lessons about living with integrity, gratitude, and humility—small things that have become guiding principles in his life. Then he left his homeland, carrying with him quiet determination and ambition, to start a completely new life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—a land full of barriers for anyone dreaming of an artistic path.

There, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration while working in a high-pressure environment, all the while seeking opportunities to step onto the stage. Amid skeptical glances and strict standards for male role models, Lhands kept moving forward. In 2023, he was crowned Mr. RMU Arabia International—a victory that went beyond appearance, recognizing a brave spirit who nurtured his passion quietly and steadfastly.

What kept him back on an undetermined journey

It’s easy to see that Lhands possesses the qualities of a leader: calm demeanor, steady gaze, and thoughtful speech. But when asked what truly shaped who he is today, he doesn’t talk about titles or career achievements. Instead, he chooses to speak about his mother.

The woman he calls the “embodiment of kindness and strength” is the foundation of all his values. His mother taught him to love without expectation and to live true to himself no matter the circumstances. For Lhands, she is not only a source of encouragement but also a role model, the image he strives to follow in every decision he makes.

Fashion came to him not as a predetermined career but as a door that unexpectedly opened. Yet once he stepped through, he committed fully and seriously. “I never thought I would be someone outstanding. I just know that if I live purposefully every day, my dreams will never remain dormant.”

When Vietnam becomes a beautiful memory

Before setting foot in Hanoi, Lhands never imagined that another Southeast Asian country could feel so familiar to him. It wasn’t grand parties or elaborate stages that left a lasting impression, but the sincere eyes, the gentle greetings, and the quiet dedication that Vietnamese people show to their international guests.

He shared, “Even those I met just once made me feel welcomed like a long-lost brother. They didn’t need to know who I was, only that I had arrived, and they wanted me to feel that my presence mattered.” Becoming a Global Ambassador of GSFW 2025, Lhands approaches not as a celebrity, but as someone carrying a responsibility — to inspire the student generation, to show gratitude to the Vietnamese designers who trusted him, and to send encouragement to everyone starting their own journey.
