A Love Story in Blue and White: Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison Tie the Knot

After years of keeping their romance largely out of the spotlight, actor Chloë Grace Moretz and her partner, model and photographer Kate Harrison, have announced their marriage. The couple, who have been together for seven years, tied the knot in a deeply personal and intimate ceremony over Labor Day weekend. Their wedding was a testament to their unique love story—a beautiful blend of non-traditional choices and timeless elegance, with both brides wearing custom-designed gowns from Louis Vuitton. From a blue bridal dress to a white cowboy hat, their nuptials were a heartfelt reflection of their shared vision and unwavering love.

A Private Love Story Goes Public

For seven years, Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison cultivated their relationship away from the glare of the public eye. Moretz, who has been a public figure since childhood, has always been vocal about her desire to protect her private life. The couple’s romance, which began in 2018, was a quiet and steady journey, with their engagement only confirmed on New Year’s Day this year via a heartfelt Instagram post. Their decision to marry was a new way of “choosing each other every day,” as Moretz told Vogue.

The couple, who are both 28 and 34, respectively, celebrated their union in a private ceremony over the weekend. They shared the details of their special day in an exclusive interview with Vogue, which also featured a behind-the-scenes look at their final dress fittings in Paris. The moment felt surreal for the brides. “We are overwhelmed in a good way,” Moretz told the magazine, while Harrison added that the dress fitting was the moment it “really makes it set in that it’s real.”

The Artistry of Louis Vuitton

The high-fashion element of the wedding was a key part of the couple’s celebration. Both brides enlisted the help of Louis Vuitton and its artistic director for womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquière, to create four exquisite ensembles for their big day. Moretz, a longtime friend and ambassador of the fashion house, was thrilled when the designer not only agreed to create her dress but also offered to design a complete look for Harrison as well. In an Instagram post, Moretz expressed her profound gratitude. “Words can’t begin to express how this feels,” she wrote. “Your generosity, artistry, dedication and kindness knows no bounds. We feel so incredibly grateful. Thank you doesn’t even begin to cut it, but, thank you. Your vision made our day all the more meaningful.”

All About Chloë Grace Moretz's Relationship With Kate Harrison

The brides, in a nod to tradition, chose not to see each other’s outfits before the ceremony, making the “first look” moment all the more special. Both flew to Paris for their final fittings, where they were fitted separately to maintain the surprise. The process, a testament to the artistry of the Louis Vuitton atelier, allowed the brides to collaborate with the design team and create looks that were not only stunning but also deeply personal.

Breaking Tradition with a Blue Gown

For her ceremony look, Moretz made a bold and non-traditional choice, opting for a custom baby-blue Louis Vuitton gown with a matching trailing veil and elegant opera gloves. The spaghetti-strap dress, which featured a sweetheart neckline and satin ruffles, was described as “Old Hollywood-inspired” and had a soft, almost “confection-like” quality. Moretz told Vogue that she never “really envisioned a wedding dress in [her] mind growing up” and knew that when the time came, she would not wear white. The blue dress, she explained, “just feels like me” and served as her “something blue.”

After the ceremony, the couple changed into their second looks—another set of custom Louis Vuitton ensembles. Moretz’s after-party outfit was a nod to her love of a Western aesthetic, featuring a custom white jacket and tailored trousers, which she topped off with a white cowboy hat and silver heels. It was a playful and confident look, with Moretz joking to Vogue, “a little bit of ‘Yee-haw, baby!’”

A Promise of Forever

While Moretz chose a non-traditional route for her ceremony gown, Kate Harrison’s dress was a perfect fusion of classic elegance and modern style. Her outfit, which was a two-piece creation, consisted of a sweetheart-neckline bustier with delicate floral embroidery and a long, flowing skirt. The look was completed with a delicate birdcage veil in the front and a long, cathedral-length veil in the back, adding a touch of classic romance. For their after-party, Harrison wore a sleek white look featuring a bustier and trousers with a sheer overlay.

Both brides were equally excited for the moment they would finally see each other on their wedding day. “The thing I’m the most excited for—other than being married—is that first look moment,” Harrison told Vogue before the ceremony. “Having no idea of what we look like in our dresses, it’s going to be so special.” The couple’s wedding was a celebration that incorporated their shared passions, with activities like fishing, horseback riding, poker, and line dancing. It was an event that perfectly captured their love—a bond built on a foundation of joy, shared interests, and a quiet devotion that has finally been made public.
