The quarterly Lyst Index has just arrived, packed with fascinating fashion insights. It includes a list of the 20 buzziest brands of the moment and highlights surprising products that people simply can’t get enough of. Discover which brands continue to dominate the charts and what unexpected trends are making waves in Q2 2025!
Topping the Charts: Miu Miu Reclaims the Crown & Other Standouts
The Q2 2025 Lyst Index reveals that Miu Miu has triumphantly regained its number-one spot, a position it had temporarily ceded to Loewe last quarter. Prada, Saint Laurent, and Coach comfortably secured places within the top five, demonstrating their continued stronghold in the luxury market. Interestingly, COS clinched the seventh spot, standing out as the sole high-street brand to make it into the top rankings, directly behind The Row at number six. This highlights a diverse consumer appetite, where both high-end and more accessible brands can exert significant influence.
The most prominent trend emerging right now? Anything to do with, well, feet. People are endlessly discussing where to find this season’s hottest, freakiest footwear, how to stand out in closed-toe shoes during summer, and whether toe rings are truly making a comeback. While fashion trends often arrive and depart in the form of “It bags” or fleeting silhouettes, it’s rare to see a single body part wield such autonomous power in sartorial conversations.
Footwear Reigns Supreme: Six Out of Ten Hottest Products are Shoes
Among the top ten hottest products of recent months, a striking six are footwear items. This list includes the Vibram Fivefinger shoes, Ancient Greek Sandals, Iro ballet flats, and The Row’s pricey Dune flip-flops. The latter saw a surge in popularity after Jonathan Bailey conspicuously sported a pair on a London red carpet. This trend indicates that the closer your foot is to the ground, the better, with extra points for flashing your toes. There’s a certain nonchalance in balancing an outfit with an unexpectedly informal shoe, subtly signaling a mastery of head-to-toe styling.
Katie Lubin, VP of Brand and Communications at Lyst, believes The Row’s hype has never been more widespread, pointing to the footwear trend as key evidence. She explains to ELLE: “They’ve hit the sweet spot where minimalist aesthetic meets maximum cultural cachet, creating products that function as both wardrobe staples and status symbols.” Across the board, searches for flip-flops have surged by 68%, with customers unsurprisingly favoring COS, Havaianas, and Tory Burch as more affordable alternatives.
Iconic Comebacks and the Enduring Power of Athletic Wear
Also featured on the “Hottest Products” list are Isabel Marant wedge sneakers and Miu Miu’s suede logo-embossed boat shoes—two styles that have enjoyed relative longevity in “internet years” since their resurgence began in early 2024. If anything, their comeback, alongside the rise of ballet sneakers (like Puma Speedcat flats), served as a precursor to the footwear-focused trend that would follow.
Elsewhere, athletic dressing continued its dominant run, with Adidas track shorts coming in at number three. This is undoubtedly thanks to celebrities like Paul Mescal and Zoë Kravitz, who recently elevated this sporty staple with heeled mules and a Saint Laurent bag. According to Lubin, Burberry also saw a significant boost in menswear, particularly for its shirting and swim shorts. Earlier this year, the British brand returned to its roots with a festival-inspired campaign starring Cara Delevingne and the Gallagher family—proving that celebrity-endorsed, brand-driven nostalgia can still be incredibly enticing in today’s fashion landscape.
