The “silent beauty” on the journey to the world of Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand

Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand is a pioneering organization for the deaf community in Thailand. More than just a beauty pageant, Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand is a source of inspiration, spreading a powerful spirit of resilience and affirming the talents that transcend limits of the deaf community on their journey toward international integration.

Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand – More than just a pageant

Founded 15 years ago, Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand has demonstrated enduring vitality and profound humanitarian values through each season. Under the dedicated leadership of Mrs. Nabdao Ongapichat, the copyright holder of Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand, the contest continuously evolves and improves, becoming a proud symbol of the deaf community in Thailand.

More than just a stage celebrating beauty, Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand is a journey of inner discovery, where deaf contestants fully express the beauty of their souls, talents, and the courage to overcome adversity. Every catwalk step, every performance is a powerful voice advocating for equality and the desire to contribute.

Thailand’s remarks on the international beauty scene

Not stopping at the national level, Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand continuously sends its outstanding representatives to international stages such as Miss & Mister Deaf World, International, Universe, Stars, and Supreme International. This is an opportunity for Thailand’s deaf community to affirm their self-worth while spreading the cultural identity and image of the country to friends across the five continents.

An impressive track record featuring names like Namwan Chutima, Miss Deaf World 2017; Pleng Juthathip, 1st Runner-up Miss Deaf World 2018; Kanjana, Miss Deaf Asia 2019; Netchanok, Miss Deaf Supreme International 2024; and Time Varapat, Mister Deaf Stars 2021 has helped write golden chapters for Thailand’s deaf community on the international stage.

Aspiration of succeeding and shining

The year 2025 marks a promising new generation. “Miss Deaf Talent Thailand 2025” Saranya Senojai and “Mister Deaf Talent Thailand 2025” Thiraphat Uthiyang will be Thailand’s official representatives at the Asia Deaf Cultural Arts Festival & Deaf Expo Asia, held in Da Nang, Vietnam, from June 6 to June 15, 2025.

This is an opportunity for these two young talents to showcase their outstanding skills and charisma on the international stage. They not only represent beauty but also carry the pride of their nation and the aspiration to rise above challenges. Through this, they affirm that deaf individuals can absolutely reach the pinnacle of artistry, overcoming all barriers of sound and communication.

Redefiners of beauty

Besides the beauty pageant, Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand also serves as a launching platform for young design talents within the deaf community. At the Rare Fashion Designer 2025 event, two gifted designers—Mr. Euro (Jetnan Chuenchomnoi) and Mr. Chang (Anirut Wongnim)—will showcase impressive fashion collections that reflect the unique perspectives of the deaf community on beauty and creativity.

Their appearance marks a significant turning point in aesthetic awareness, where previous limitations are gradually being broken down. They help open up an open artistic space where differences are not only accepted but also become sources of creative inspiration. They are living proof that talent is not confined by disabilities, and art is a universal language that can connect every soul beyond all barriers.

When the stage lights blaze, hearts that do not rely on sound can still resound with an anthem of resilience and aspiration. Miss & Mister Deaf Thailand is precisely the place where silent beauties are understood, honored, and presented to the world with all faith and pride. To truly empower the dreams of the deaf community, governments and private sectors in every country must come together to establish and support similar competitions—giving deaf individuals the stage they deserve, and the future they strive for.
